Privacy Policy

Website to Markdown ("we", "us") operates websitetomarkdown.ai and app.websitetomarkdown.ai (together, the "Service"), which converts websites you choose into Markdown files. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what your choices are. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the Service, and we never sell your data.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address, collected when you sign up with Google (via Google OAuth) or with email and password. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored only in hashed form; signing in with Google never shares your Google password with us.
- Content you crawl. The URLs you submit and the Markdown we produce from them are stored so you can browse, preview, and download your crawls. This content is private to your account.
- Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers; we store only your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference.
- Technical data. IP addresses used to rate-limit the anonymous demo and prevent abuse, plus standard server logs.
How we use information
We use the information above to provide and operate the Service, enforce plan quotas, process subscriptions, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests. We do not sell personal data, we do not run third-party advertising, and we do not use your crawled content to train AI models.
Where your data lives
We rely on a small set of service providers to run the Service: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), and Stripe (payments). Each processes data on our behalf under their own data-protection terms.
Cookies
We use essential cookies only — the ones needed to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Retention and deletion
Crawled content is stored until you delete it, and deleting a crawl removes its Markdown from our database. You can delete crawls yourself at any time from the app. To delete your entire account and its data, contact us at support@websitetomarkdown.ai and we will complete the deletion promptly, including removal from routine backups on their normal cycle.
Your rights
You can access, export, correct, or delete your data. Export is built into the product — your content is always downloadable as a ZIP. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific data-protection rights (such as the EEA or UK), you may also exercise those rights, or lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority, by contacting us first at support@websitetomarkdown.ai.
Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS, data is encrypted at rest by our infrastructure providers, and every account's content is isolated at the database layer so it is only readable by you.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy here and notify account holders by email. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
